PATCH TRADING
Below you will find our rules for patch trading. Everything is negotiable and from time to time, the rules are bent a little if the trade is a unique acquisition. But we do emplore you to read these rules first and if for any reason you do not agree with them, then please do not continue any further. Patch Me Thru respects all collectors and we would expect that you return the same level of respect as we give you. Only, registered members of Patch Me Thru will be allowed to view the patch contact sheets and those members will be given the information to access this section during the trade. You can close this window at any time by clicking on the X at the top right corner of this window.
PATCH ME THRU TRADING RULES
[1] New condition patches are traded for new condition patches.
[2] Used condition patches are traded for used condition patches.
[3] Vintage, obsolete and defunct department patches, called better material, are traded for equal value and/or near same era style patches. Unfortunately, if you have never traded with Patch Me Thru before you will most likely not qualify for these types of trades. Only well established collectors and good standing members of Patch Me Thru will be allowed to trade for better material. We strongly encourage you to start out with smaller common and new style trades and establish yourself as a reputable collector and good trader. Then you will be allowed to trade better material with Patch Me Thru.
[4] Tabs/rockers/chevrons are traded for tabs/rockers/chevrons.
[5] Badges, shields and collar brass of any style are not traded or sold to anyone or for any reason.
[6] Badge patches are traded for badge patches only.
[7] Specialized unit patches are traded for specialized unit patches. Specialized Units include Mounted, Posse, K-9, Aviation, Dive, SWAT, etc. There are some exceptions to this rule and will be handled on by a case-by-case basis.
[8] Prototype and pre-production patches are traded for prototype and pre-production patches only.
[9] Patches that are missing embroidery, have cuts, tears, holes, heavy staining etc. will not be accepted as traders. Patch Me Thru maintains a minimum quality control standard with our stock and only want the best material for our membership.
[10] All guests of Patch Me Thru are REQUIRED to read the trading rules and glossary section of this website before trading is allowed. Acknowledging that the guest understands and have read the rules and glossary will need to be sent to us in advance via verifiable e-mail.
Bascially, keep the trading as fair as possible and even. Obviously we will not trade a first issue patch from the 1950's for a current style patch from the 1990's. I disclose any descrepancies with the item you are inquiring about BEFORE the patch is sent to you. Which means if it is new or used or is missing embroidery or has tears, staple/pin holes, has drywall, glue, marker or pen on the back of the patch, etc. Or anything that would make the patch less desirable for it's collective value, it will be disclosed to you first. I would ask that you would disclose the same to us before the trade is completed. Withholding any information just to close a trade deal will obviosuly be discovered when the patches arrive in our hands. If you did not disclose these descrepancies before they are shipped to us, you will be banned from Patch Me Thru and further trades and placed on our public "bad trader" list. Any and all patches shown in the trade section are available for inspection and may be requested anytime via e-mail.
